Job description

The
Department of Emergency Medicine (DoEM) at Dartmouth Health and the Geisel School of Medicine is seeking a highly qualified
Clinician-Scientist to be our inaugural
Vice-Chair of Research. The DoEM at Dartmouth is a young, dynamic department which seeks to make substantive and meaningful contributions to the field of emergency medicine. As an Ivy League research university, Dartmouth is a leading teaching and research institution and our faculty benefit from highly collaborative interactions across the Dartmouth campus including other clinical departments at Dartmouth Health, the Geisel School of Medicine, Dartmouths College of Arts and Sciences, Thayer School of Engineering and Tuck School of Business. Current areas of research in the DoEM include rural health care delivery, the intersection of critical care and prehospital medicine, point of care ultrasound including device development, wilderness medicine and geriatric emergency medicine. We are actively involved in numerous multi-institutional projects including substance use disorder, pediatric infectious disease, and maternal health care. We are seeking an established researcher who will not only maintain an independent research program but who is also committed to mentoring others and to advancing a culture of inquiry and academic excellence across the entire department.
