What we are looking for
You will provide environmental assessment/ monitoring and engineering/design support for projects being conducted for clients. As new work develops, you will maintain contact with the Project Manager/ delegated Project Lead for assignments and manage the work being conducted following the project schedule and at a level of quality consistent with the SCS Quality Management System and standard industry practices. You will conduct assignments in an office setting and the field. You will report to the Project Manager. Your responsibilities will be primarily performed in the Kansas City office along with fieldwork assignments.
How you can make an impact
- Review laboratory analytical reports on groundwater, stormwater, gaseous, and other samples.
- Prepare reports such as SPCC, SWPPP, Phase I, Phase II, Soil Management Plan, Dust Control Plan, environmental site assessment, emission, groundwater, and compliance reporting.
- Oversee drilling activities involving monitoring and well installation, borehole logging, well development, and sampling.
- Review technical documents to ensure completeness and conformance to requirements.
- Record data during fieldwork, which could include soil characteristics, lithology, groundwater or surface water data, photographs, or summaries of visual observations through photographs and written field logs following standard operating procedures.
- Prepare environmental assessment/ monitoring reports, including tabulated data, charts, graphs, sketches, and figures.
- Collect samples from hazardous and non-hazardous sites, including soil, air, surface water, groundwater, and landfill gas.
- Conduct and document construction quality assurance observations to ensure compliance with construction documents.
- Complete quality control reviews on all work products (reports, design plans, design calculations, data, etc.) before submission.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and clients.
- Prepare permit applications and regulatory agency submittals and responses with supporting documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Science from an accredited institution required.
- 2 or more Years of Relevant Experience required.
- Valid Driver's License with a driving record in good standing.

Pay range for this position is $50,000 to $75,000 annually depending on experience. This does not include bonuses or our Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
