YOUR IMPACT
As the Vice President, M&A at OpenText, you will spearhead the identification, evaluation, and execution of public and private company mergers and acquisitions. You'll play a crucial role in driving due diligence processes, leading negotiation efforts, and supporting transaction structuring. Your strategic insights and analytical prowess will contribute to the growth and success of OpenText's Corporate Development activities.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
• Influence the strategic direction of OpenText by identifying and evaluating potential acquisition targets.
• Shape the company's growth trajectory through strategic mergers and acquisitions that align with organizational objectives.
• Lead cross-functional teams through complex deal processes, fostering collaboration and driving toward successful outcomes.
• Drive innovation and efficiency in the M&A process, contributing to the continuous improvement of practices and methodologies.
• Represent OpenText externally in negotiations and discussions with investment banks, private equity firms, and other key stakeholders.
WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS
• Lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of mergers and acquisitions for OpenText, partnering closely with business unit and functional leaders.
• Drive due diligence processes and negotiate deals of varying sizes and structures.
• Support transaction structuring and evaluate operational and financial impacts of the combined entity.
• Manage OpenText’s M&A governance process and support integration planning and execution.
• Maintain a target pipeline, engage targets, evaluate inbound deals, and build relationships with key stakeholders in the marketplace.
• Play a visible leadership role in OpenText’s Corporate Development activities, providing transaction management and analytical support to the Head of M&A.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
• Minimum of 12 years of relevant corporate finance experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or venture capital.
• Experience leading in an accelerated M&A lifecycle model and executing entire transactions.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, proficiency in financial modeling, valuation, and business case building.
• Proficiency in using PowerPoint and proven ability to develop compelling presentations.
• Strong work ethic, effective decision-making skills, and a bias for action.
• Ability to build strong internal and external relationships and professional networks.
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
• Ability to travel and work long hours as required.
