Position Description:The Department of Accounting within the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa invites applications for one non-tenure Instructional Track Faculty Position in Accounting at the levels of Assistant Professor of Instruction or Practice, Associate Professor of Instruction or Practice, or Full Professor of Instruction or Practice starting Fall 2024. Rank will be based on experience and record of achievement. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications. Position may range from 50% time (teaching 4 classes/year) to 100% time (teaching 8 classes/year) and include a 1-7 year contract with benefits. Education Requirement:
CPA ,Masters or PhD in accounting or in a related field.
Required Qualifications:Evidence of successful teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level in accounting OR a demonstrated high level of competence in teaching through professional experience. The candidate must be able to teach courses in at least two subject areas (Financial, Auditing, Managerial or AIS). Candidates must have experience incorporating data analytics in their teaching OR a demonstrated high level of competence in data analytics.
Strong background in Accounting with industry experience (3-5 years).
Desirable Qualifications:We particularly seek candidates who are prepared to teach advanced auditing. We are also seeking candidates prepared to teach at least two different courses in the teaching matrix.
Significant industry experience in auditing (5-10 years). Significant experience with accounting analytics and digital accounting tools such as data visualization tools (i.e. Tableau), and data transformation tools (i.e. Alteryx).
