Job description

Major and established international company has an opportunity for a Quality Assurance Engineer Audit related at their large complex commutable to the east of the Atlanta, Georgia metropolitan area. This high volume manufacturer at their site manufacture with the following processes involved to include machining, assembly and the paint process and significant automation. There are very attractive benefits and 1 to 2% profit sharing. There is professional growth potential as well.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Serve as Lead Auditor for the Quality Management System.

Oversee the maintenance of and adherence to industry, customer, and internal standards.

Manage the Quality System auditing function to include audit schedule management, audit team management, conducting audits, auditor training, audit result reporting,

organizing of cross-functional task teams, and managing of non-conformance or non-compliance findings to closure.

Interface with 3rd party registrar and support 3rd party certification audits to achieve and maintain IATF 16949 automotive certification.

Collaborate with management to develop, initiate, maintain, monitor, and analyze quality system status computerized reports related to quality audits, process improvements, and quality systems issues.

Measures to ensure achievement of overall company goals.

Lead projects to identify, develop, implement, train, and maintain appropriate processes, policies, and procedures to enhance the quality management system.

Support customer quality system audits and customer meetings, as needed, to achieve customer quality systems certifications.

Support Quality Systems goals, activities, and initiatives, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

An engineering bachelor's degree in related field with a minimum of three (3) years' experience.

Strong background with Quality Management Systems, specifically IATF 16949 . Must have a solid understanding of continuous improvement methods, problem-solving techniques, audit principles, and change management processes.

Quality Systems auditing experience and auditor certification is required.

Strong understanding of industry core tools (APQP, PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP

, SPC, MSA)

Knowledge of calipers, micrometers, CMM, Vision Systems, and other measuring equipment. (Preferably experience in automotive manufacturing environment)

Ability to read blueprints.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Proven problem-solving skills.

Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, including demonstrated leadership ability and ability to work as part of a team.

Strong oral and written communications skills, with ability to communicate to personnel at all levels of the organization and with diverse international backgrounds.

Strong project management skills; excellent organizational skills and flexibility for multi-task situations; good problem-solving skills.

Ability to motivate team members to accomplish goals.

Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the direction and supervision of employees.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Required to sit for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Usual office working conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet. The performance of this position may occasional require exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment and steel toe shoes.
