Job Summary:
The Senior Project Manager reports to the Principal or Executive Project Manager and is responsible for scope development, planning, contracting, construction, and closeout activities as they relate to the project. They lead implementation of project documentation and deliverables and is responsible for timely communication with business partners and executive leadership. This is a long term project hire role.
What You Will Do:
On any given day, as a Senior Project Manager, you might:
Lead development of budgets, scheduling, and resource planning for projects and provide directional leadership to the entire project team
Responsible for the implementation and quality of the change management program including mitigations, validity, and disposition of project changes
Responsible for implementation and quality of the project risk management program including establishment of the risk register, impacts, mitigation plans, avoidance strategies, risk owners, and contingency requirements to deliver project reliably
Effectively manage project contingency and authorize its use
Develop the project delivery strategy and lead the team in delivering in accordance with the defined strategies
Work with suppliers and subcontractors to influence schedule plans, mitigations, acceleration, and support negotiations for contracts, project changes, and claims
Lead the project in problem solving and reaching balanced, timely decisions with incomplete or unclear information
Prepare and develop effective presentations with recommendations to executive management
Collaborate with senior management in decision making regarding complex issues
Supervise other project managers, provide input and influence project casting, including participating in the interviewing process
Contribute knowledge to team including training and apply lessons learned
Required Qualifications & Skills
You Will Have:
Here’s what you need to be successful at this job:
Possess a thorough understanding of project estimates, including the basis of estimate, assumptions, exclusions, and risks; help to identify estimate gaps; understand trade-offs in factors that impact the estimate and knock-on effects; support alignment of the team in understanding and delivering within the baseline parameters
Possess a thorough understanding of project schedules from development through completion of the project. Help align the team in understanding and delivering within the schedule baseline parameters. Must be a key driver in developing schedule risk mitigation strategies and understand the interdependencies of the schedule activities
Adapt to changing project demands, collaborates with diverse project teams and meets milestone schedule expectations/deadlines
Demonstrate strong meeting facilitation, presentation, and collaboration skills to keep all members of project team aligned and to develop integrated and fully supported project strategies
Ability to manage through conflict, complexity and to problem-solve issues to resolution
Demonstrate good situational awareness and use basic emotional intelligence to positively influence studio decision making to support project goals and strategies
Provide input and influence project casting, including participating in the interviewing process
Recruit, evaluate, and develop talent
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
Proven experience in all phases of project delivery from conceptual through close-out
Experience with and proven understanding of scheduling, estimating, budgeting and quality control
Supervisory experience managing and leading a project team, being the team leader
Contract administration and claims management experience
Themed entertainment experience preferred
Education
4-year undergraduate degree, preferably in a technical field such as engineering, architecture, construction management, or 7 years equivalent work experience in project management.

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, California is $120,000.00 to $165,000.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
