Head of Communications  -  Westlake, TX  - in-office 4 days a week

This is a newly created Head of Communications position for an established and highly successful tech-focused company. Reporting to the CMO, you will be responsible for building and leading the corporate and internal communications function from the ground up. Since this is a new position, you will be expected to be hands-on and function in a player/coach capacity as you grow the team.

You will be responsible for the following :

• Create a centralized place for internal comms and create consistent messaging
• Owning the organic social channels and messaging
• Write for and as Executives
• Manage external PR firms and serve up data and stories to make them more effective
• Crisis communications
• Filed media requests and interview setups
• Work with the sales team to ensure consistent messaging

Required for consideration:

• 15+ years of experience in Communications and PR building and leading a corporate and internal communications function
• Experience managing a PR firm or running the PR team in-house
• Writing experience - such as drafting and editing press releases, blogs, social, Executive speeches and emails, etc
• Comfortable working with the media
• Management experience preferred
