Job Title: Of Counsel - Real Estate Law

Location: Los Angeles/Orange County, CA

Position Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned attorney with extensive experience in real estate law to join our firm in an Of Counsel role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, and development, as well as a demonstrated ability to provide strategic advice and counsel to clients on complex legal matters.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on a wide range of real estate transactions and issues, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, development, zoning, land use, and regulatory compliance.
  2. Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of real estate documents and contracts, including purchase agreements, leases, loan documents, easements, and title documents, to protect clients interests and achieve their business objectives.
  3. Conduct due diligence investigations, title examinations, and risk assessments to identify potential legal issues and mitigate risks associated with real estate transactions.
  4. Collaborate with clients, real estate developers, lenders, investors, and other parties involved in real estate transactions to facilitate successful deal closings and ensure compliance with legal requirements and industry standards.
  5. Represent clients in real estate litigation and dispute resolution matters, including landlord-tenant disputes, property disputes, contract disputes, and regulatory enforcement actions, both in state and federal courts and in alternative dispute resolution forums.
  6. Stay informed of developments in real estate law, market trends, and regulatory changes affecting clients interests, and provide proactive advice and counsel to clients to anticipate and address potential legal issues.
  7. Contribute to business development efforts, including networking, client relationship management, and marketing initiatives, to expand the firms real estate practice and attract new clients and opportunities.

Qualifications:

  1. Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the California State Bar.
  2. 7+ years of experience practicing real estate law, with a focus on transactional matters and litigation, preferably in a reputable law firm or corporate legal department.
  3. Strong knowledge of real estate law principles, statutes, regulations, and industry practices, with a track record of successfully handling complex real estate transactions and disputes.
  4. Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts and negotiate favorable outcomes for clients.
  5. Proven ability to manage multiple projects, work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and achieve results.
  6. Demonstrated leadership, professionalism, integrity, and commitment to providing exceptional client service while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.
  7. Established network of contacts in the real estate industry, including clients, developers, lenders, brokers, and other professionals, is highly desirable.
