Begin with Book s Volunteer
Do you enjoy working with young children and books, and want to make a difference in your community? Join the Begin with Books program. Volunteers provide a monthly story time for children ages 0-5 at a private childcare home. Story time activities can include reading, songs, finger plays and action rhymes. Training, books and materials provided!
What you'll do :
- Work to create positive experiences with our Begin with Books program.
- Promote the love of books through stories and songs.
- Engage children in story time activities.
- Read books to children .
- Lead songs, finger plays , and action rhymes.
What you h ave:
- Interested in working with children 0-5 and their caregivers.
- Ability working with attention to detail.
- Ability in being organized and reliable.
- Ability to work with people from all backgrounds and age groups.
- Ability to demonstrate positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively and openly communicate young children.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Reliable means of transportation.
Volunteer Schedule: The schedule will be determined by the needs of the department and is subject to change.
