Job description

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Market Veterinary Centre

Salary up to £28,500 depending on experience

We are looking for a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to work between our Barnstaple and South Molton sites.

The day-to-day duties of our Registered Veterinary Nurses range from inpatient care, and theatre to nurse consults. We encourage our RVNs to utilise their skills including in Schedule 3 procedures.

A Varied Shift Pattern

This is ideally a full-time position, but we would consider fewer days or condensed hours for the right candidate. Your weekday shifts will vary with the earliest start at 8 am and the latest finish at 6.15 pm. Currently, our nurses are working 1:7 Saturdays from 8.30 am-5 pm with time given back that week.
You would be required to participate in the 2nd on-call rota from 6-10 pm (roughly 1 night in 7 weeks) with a paid retainer fee, call-out fee and x 1.5 hourly rate once in practice. Our nurses participate in late night inpatient checks which are currently 3 evenings in 7 weeks and are compensated for their time.

The practice is equipped with an internal laboratory for diagnostics, digital X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, bronchoscopy, dental radiography, therapeutic laser therapy (nurse-led clinics) and multiparameter monitors in theatre.
