Job description
We are looking for a caring and approachable person to join our small friendly cemetery team to help us to provide a sensitive burial service. You should enjoy working outdoors and although experience is desirable, the right person will receive full training.
Duties and responsibilities
To prepare graves for burial
To operate mechanical diggers and dumper trucks
To carry out grave maintenance
To keep the building facilities clean and tidy
To meet with families, memorial masons, contractors
To keep on-site burial records up to date

About you
You will have good communication skills and have a caring attitude and the ability to work under pressure.
You will be happy to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
You will have a willing approach to learning new skills.
You will be linked to one particular cemetery which will be your responsibility. This will involve both team and lone working, but you may start the day at any of the five cemeteries around the Borough when needed.
We will provide all the training you need so don’t worry if you have no experience in working in cemeteries.
