Job Introduction

We are in search of a Chef Manager  at Monteagle Primary School who excels not only in culinary skills but also in guiding and motivating a team in the kitchen. The perfect candidate should have a thorough understanding of the latest trends in cooking and be skilled in creating a wide variety of dishes to an exceptional standard.

This position operates on a term time basis, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3 pm.

This role will require applicants to undergo screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and/ or Disclosure Scotland.

What you’ll do

• Lead the preparation and presentation of all meal services, ensuring quality and satisfaction.
• Implement and maintain food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards.
• Maintain strict budgetary control while enhancing the customer experience.
• Develop and maintain relationships with individuals across the company and client organisation.
• Innovate in food presentation and actively engage in curriculum-based food activities.
• Manage and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

What you bring: 

• Possession of a Level 3 food hygiene certificate.
• Previous catering experience and a passion for food and team engagement.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication.
• Good time management and organisational skills.
• Positive approach to learning, adaptability, and teamwork
• Enhanced DBS Clearance or willingness to have one
