About the Opportunity

Significant upgrade and modifications to key infrastructure at Devonport - project within Government Major Projects Portfolio. Jacobs deployed as client advisors enabling, supporting, assuring delivery of facilities within approved cost/time envelopes. Role within the Jacobs team deployed in Devonport to support this key client during the construction phase.

Key Responsibilities include:

Construction Manager Role. Circa 3 days per week on site in Plymouth with some WFH and some travel for off-site pre-fabrication and testing.

• Witness selected Key construction site activities

• Witness selected factory acceptance tests

• Support nominated NEC supervisor

• Construction planning and schedule assurance.

o Support Monthly contract schedule reviews

o Weekly Progress Review (and 2 week lookahead)

o Advice on realism of impacts from risks, issues, opportunities, construction sequence changes, risk/contingency drawdown.

o Construction schedule deep dives and realism of forecast outturns.

o Support PM in understanding weekly schedule variance and impact on end dates.

• Advice on NEC contract Early Warning treatment and impacts. Maintain Weekly Site Diary on key activities undertaken, issues log for use as records for any EWN / CE assessment.

• Advice on schedule risk exposure

• Sentencing build assurance risks.

Advise on site efficiency – plant use, resource utilisation, material management (and wasteage).

Here’s What You’ll Need:

• Sole UK National and SC cleared

• Relevant Degree (Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management)

• Relevant Professional affiliation

• Heavy Civils construction in a high hazard and regulated environment

• Construction Planning

• Construction Scheduling and evaluation

• NEC ECC experience
