OpportunitySummary:
GlobalData is a large independent economic consulting firm specialising in global agricultural commodity and agribusiness sectors. We are lookingtorecruit an Economist to work in ourCoffee/Cocoa Teambased in our Oxford Office. The successful candidate will contribute to the studies and projects of GlobalData's Coffee/Cocoa Teamas well as carrying outvarious research tasks.
Your primaryresponsibilities:
- You willhave or willneed toacquire a detailed knowledge of theCoffee/Cocoasector and be able to formulate in rigorous economic terms but simple language, ideas about the economic forces, including the policies, market trends and structural changes shaping thesector.
- Undertake detailed economic, quantitative, market analysis and researchassignments.
- Contribute to the preparation of the monthly and quarterly publications of theCoffee/Cocoa Team, as well as contributing to single-client projects and multi-client studies.
- Assist the Director of Coffee/Cocoa in the generation of project ideas and in the management of designated projects, includingassistance with the preparation of multi-client proposals, project proposals and post-publication brochures.
Qualifications and training:
- Bachelors and orMasters Degree in economics, mathematics or other numerate discipline
- Work experience (ideally gained in the agricultural business sector)
- Advanced Microsoft Office, especially Excel experience a distinct advantage.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
