Senior Finance Partner - Captives and Climate Businesses

Job description
The role is for a Senior Finance Business Partner to support the Captive & Insurance Management Solutions (CIMS) and Climate Practice businesses, and reports into the Finance Director, Corporate Risk and broking (CRB)- Risk, Analytics, Broking and Technology.
Both businesses are global and aligned under the same Chief Executive Officer and this extensive role requires you to work closely with the Executive Management teams for CIMS and Climate Practice covering critical processes including the planning cycle, actuals reporting, financial results commentary, investment appraisal, accounts receivables and revenue recognition. As such the role has a high level of interaction with Finance colleagues and senior leaders and requires a self-motivated individual, with strong interpersonal skills.
The Role
- Financial management
- Responsible for the delivery of the CIMS and Climate Practice budget, forecast and actuals reporting cycles
- Work with budget holders to deliver financial targets and similarly with Geographies to ensure we meet broader expectations
- Financial control of the recently implemented CIMS Technology Transformation programme ensuring costs are closely managed and benefits captured
- Financial forecasting, revenue tracking and reporting
- Overall coordination of spend including pre-approvals and reporting against the budget and forecast, proactively working with stakeholders to understand variances
- Manage month-end close processes ensuring all office submissions are timely and complete, and returns are accurate and understood
- Monitor revenue pipelines using CRM Dynamics to assist in accurate forecasting, and also salary trackers for resource planning
- Detailed revenue tracking for the CIMS Vermont business including pre-approval of all billings and monthly recognition
- Monitor accounts receivable balances ensuring debts are regularly chased and resolved
- Establish revenue protocols for the Climate Practice to facilitate working with the business across all Geographies
- Provide as required deeper Geography insight to Business Leaders including attendance where appropriate to review meetings
- Support the development of reporting products as the Future of Finance initiative continues to evolve
- Finance governance
- Present at least monthly to CIMS and Climate Practice Executive Committees on all finance matters
- As a designated signatory, review and sign-off payroll and accounts payable runs as necessary across CIMS domiciles
The Requirements
- A qualified accountant with functioning knowledge of USGAAP and/or the ability to apply USGAAP within the business context.
- Experience of finance business partnering; preferably at the international level, working with external partners.
- A self-starter, someone who can work independently and navigate a large and complex organization to resolve issues.
- Willingness to learn and develop in a dynamic and highly focused environment.
- Deadline & delivery focused.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including ability to interact as an equal with senior business management
- Possess a high level of business understanding and ability to grasp and convey complexity in a compelling manner
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to recognise incorrect or inconsistent numbers/reports before they spread any wider and create reputational risk
- Have a good understanding of databases
- Possess excellent IT / Excel skills and to work with advanced models and presentations
- Hyperion/Essbase/Oracle knowledge
- Strong analytical mindset
- Experience using Power BI, Essebase and Hyperion
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to form influential relationships with colleagues at all levels of seniority.
- Ability to generate ideas and take ideas from inception to execution.
- Self-motivated and possess intellectual curiosity.
