Job description

We are currently looking for Supply Teachers to join the team at Breakthrough in Education. We proudly work with several specialist schools across the Bury St Edmunds area and are seeking to expand the availability of our supply teachers.

Within this role, you will be working across specialist schools to support children with complex learning needs. The class sizes typically range from 8-10 pupils, and you will receive support from a team of teaching assistants. You will be expected to deliver creative and engaging lessons for pupils at varying abilities. Additionally, as some pupils may have communication needs, you will also receive support from third-party providers.

The ideal person for this position

• Will have at least 2 years teaching experience behind them
• Be QTS qualified for equivalent
• Have a pupil centric approach
• Be compassionate and caring to understand the pupils specific learning requirements
• Experience of working with pupils with EHCPs
• Behaviour management training
• Ability to lead a team of TAs
• Great communication skills to be able to engage with the SENCO and families of the pupils when required.
