Job description

​​​​​Step Teachers are working with a mainstream primary school in Friern Barnet looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to support a student in Year 4 with Global Delay with good behaviour. This role is offered from March 2024, on an ongoing basis. For the right Teaching Assistant, there is an opportunity for a permanent contract. 

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Make a positive impact, academically, socially and emotionally within the classroom
• Assist the class teacher with planning and delivery of activities
• Assess and feedback to the class teacher regarding this student's learning journey
• Providing feedback to parents and carers on children’s progress and achievements

Requirements:

• Minimum Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent would be desirable
• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school
• Experience working with children with SEND, specifically global delay
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parent
