Job description

The Finance and Accountancy Division at The One Group is recruiting for a Financial Reporting Manager on the behalf of a globally market leading Manufacturing / Retail Business based in Bedfordshire. This is a 18 Month FTC to cover maternity leave with scope for the role to be extended.

As the Financial Reporting Manager, you will lead the financial reporting in the preparation of financial information and ensure the company complies with stator and group obligations with submission of financial data and reports.

As the Financial Reporting Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Responsible for technical accounting, including hedge accounting, IFRS 16, IFRS 9
• Preparing balance sheet, cashflow and working capital budgets and forecasts
• Implementing balance sheet packs for monthly reviews, including a variance to prior year and analysis of risks and opportunities
• Implementing improvements to accounting processes, such as stocks, FX and leases etc
• Taking accountability of the relationship with internal and external auditors and overseeing the external interim and year end audit
• Managing external relationships with banks, group treasury, third party payment providers and others as required
• Planning and executing of period end financial close cut off and submission of reporting requirements within the Group in a timely manner
• Being the first point of contact for all Group reporting queries
• Ensuring robust financial controls and compliance is met in line with corporation tax and VAT
• Taking ownership of all external reporting including FCA returns, ONS, PSA etc
• Preparing and submitting statutory accounts of two main trading entities
• Working closely with senior management team on projects in line with companies growth plans and strategies
• Managing one direct report

As the Financial Reporting Manager, you must demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

• Qualified ACCA / CIMA / ACA with some post qualification experience
• Experienced in working with internal and external auditors
• Conversant and uo tp date knowledge with financial statement to IFRS and UK GAAP standards
• Strong attention to detail skills and ability to work to tight deadlines
• Understanding of VAT and CT Regulations
