Salary: Grade 10, £42,403 - £46,464 per annum.

Your role :
You will assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor with the procurement and financial management of the Council’s construction projects from initial budget setting to final account settlement. You will work both autonomously and/or collaboratively with the cost management team to ensure the Council is achieving value for money across all aspects of its construction activities. You will develop close working relationships with the wider team, initiating close coordination of all elements of the project associated to the discipline including change control procedures and providing a full commercial support service, compiling, and maintaining commercial information, ensuring compliance with procurement and contractual requirements.
About you :
You will have a construction financial management degree and / or working towards chartered membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. You’ll have detailed knowledge of JCT / NEC contract conditions, building & construction technology, processes, and materials, with emphasis on education environments and experienced in producing Bill of Quantities and feasibility estimates at various RIBA stages. You’ll have great interpersonal skills that enable you to work in different operational areas for a range of customers, colleagues, and stakeholders. You’ll be able to work on your own initiative or within a team environment, displaying the Be Wigan behaviours and being ambitious to further develop your skills.
