About the Team
The Data Platform team is responsible for building ETL Pipelines that fuel the Data Platform at Rapid7. Moving both Product Usage and Product Data into our Data Platform to enable Product Analytics at Rapid7 and for product teams to develop new features, enhance existing features and build shared experiences to create value for customers across the world.
We have a cutting edge data stack including Kafka, K8s, Spark and Iceberg.
About the Role
The Software Engineer I is a part of our Data Platform Engineering. In this role you will be focussed on helping our product teams move data into our Data Platform for in product experiences and product analytics. You will be given the time to learn and develop your skills surrounded by a team of incredibly smart and experienced Engineers.
In this role, you will:
Build and Maintain Reliable Data Pipelines
Participate in the design and planning of upcoming work, our Engineers are first class stakeholders in all parts of the development process
Ability to work cross functionally to help deliver a shared Data Platform
Work with Practice specific technologies
The skills you’ll bring include:
1-2 years experience in software development using Python or other equivalent programming languages
Excited by technology, curious and eager to learn
Knowledge of some tooling from within the Data Space e.g. (Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Jenkins)
The attitude and ability to thrive in a high-growth, evolving environment
Collaborative team player who has the ability to partner with others and drive toward solutions
Strong creative problem solving skills
Solid communicator with excellent written and verbal communications skills both within the team and cross functionally
Passionate about delighting customers, puts the customer needs at the forefront of all decision making
Excellent attention to detail
