Position: Solar Project Manager
Salary: 35,000 – 50,000. DOE
Hours of Employment: Full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday
Job Description:
In collaboration with the broader team, the Solar Project Manager will lead the installation of diverse domestic and commercial projects. Responsibilities encompass overseeing the installation and commissioning of various components, including mounting systems, modules, cabling, inverters, batteries, and connection to the distribution switchgear. Projects vary from local domestic installations to extensive nationwide commercial endeavors.
The ideal candidate should possess substantial experience in installing and commissioning solar photovoltaic systems, coupled with expertise in electrical installations for both domestic and commercial applications. The role involves managing small teams, client interactions, and requires physical fitness for on–site responsibilities.
General Duties:
- Install renewable energy technologies
- Lead teams to ensure timely and high–quality installations, adhering to design documentation
- Test and commission AC/DC systems for safety and industry standards
- Complete commissioning routines and tests for project certification
- Ensure compliance with regulations and site–specific RAMS
- Communicate and assist with project designs and surveys
- Maintain effective communication with the management team
Specific Duties:
- Manage projects from inception to completion within specified scope, time, and budget
- Conduct site surveys to understand local conditions impacting design and research supply costs
- Supervise site engineers and subcontractors, managing PoW and scope
- Train junior installers
- Respond to daily project requirements, producing concise weekly progress reports
- Proactively address on–site issues with site engineers
- Regularly update clients on project progress
- Complete necessary paperwork in compliance with MCS standards and procedures
Essential Criteria:
- Proficient in installing roof anchors and mounting rails
- Experience in stringing and installing solar modules
- Competent in installing and commissioning inverters, hybrid inverters, and batteries
- Previous inspection and testing experience
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Professional and courteous demeanor
- Proactive and self–motivated
- Possess a full driving license
- Reside within a 30–mile radius of Canterbury
