Deputy Centre Director - Facilities Management

Join a leading property organisation as a Deputy Centre Director and play a key role in supporting the Centre Director to enhance the business and operational management of the allocated Centre. Your leadership and organisational skills will contribute to improving trading potential and asset performance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assume the role of Duty Manager as needed, ensuring effective duty management and business continuity aligned with the Centre's crisis management policy.
- Oversee all Centre facilities and contractor management, motivating teams to achieve required standards.
- Lead regular Centre operational meetings to cascade business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with insurer’s requirements and liaise with management agents and head office departments for Procurement and Socially Responsible Management.
- Prepare and deliver operational reports as required.
- Assist in the development and compliance of the Centre’s emergency planning and business resumption plan.
- Oversee the update and issuance of the Tenants' Handbook.
- Liaise with new tenants, providing health and safety and operational induction during the shop fit period.
- Ensure compliance with the managing agent’s Working Practices Manual.
- Oversee accident and incident reporting, including insurance and statutory forms and procedures.
- Assist in shop fit plan approvals and liaise with owners/clients' representatives as required.
- Contribute to sustainability initiatives and perform any other duties reasonably requested by the Centre Manager.

Compliance:

- Ensure contractors' staff are aware of H&S procedures and compliant with regulations.
- Oversee all aspects of Centre Health & Safety, ensuring compliance with managing agent’s systems and procedures.
- Review and maintain compliance with statutory and procedural documentation, including Operations manuals.
- Implement the managing agent’s policy on energy procurement and environmental management.
- Manage utility costs effectively without compromising service quality.
- Supervise tenants’ and landlord’s contractors to ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Centre rules.
- Oversee the Centre’s CCTV equipment and operations to comply with statutory regulations.
- Ensure waste removal complies with statutory regulations.
- Assist with tendering, awarding, and supervision of service contracts.
- Monitor service charge provision, expenditure, and commercialization income/expenditure.

- Discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Results and achievement-oriented with a history of delivering to deadlines and adhering to key performance indicators.
- Leadership qualities with a passion for excellence in compliance, communication, and customer service.
- Experience in managing H&S responsibilities.

Qualifications / Training:

- Tertiary qualification, preferably related to facilities management or technical services.
- SITO qualified and SIA licensed (preferred).
- Recognized and certificated H&S qualification (preferred).
- Good administrative and IT skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Strong numeracy skills with experience setting and managing budgets.
- Excellent customer relations skills.
- Experience in contract procurement and management of contractors.
