Job description
We are working with a world-leading construction consultancy based in Leeds, who are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Planner to join their dynamic team. As a Senior Planner, you will play a pivotal role within the consultancy, working closely with multiple stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and senior management. The successful candidate must possess strong NEC Contract experience, Primavera P6 experience and be eligible for security clearance due to the nature of the projects involved.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to develop project plans, including defining project objectives, deliverables, timelines, and budgets.
- Utilise your NEC Contract expertise to ensure all contractual obligations, terms, and conditions are met.
- Prepare comprehensive project schedules using relevant software, enabling accurate project tracking and reporting.
- Assess potential risks and develop contingency plans to maintain project timelines and budgets.
- Monitor and analyse project performance against established plans, identifying potential delays, issues, or gaps; taking appropriate actions to implement corrective measures.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Project Planner within a construction consultancy or related sector.
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience working with NEC Contracts.
- Eligibility for security clearance is mandatory due to the sensitive nature of client projects.
- Proficient in utilising planning software, such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or Asta Powerproject.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and address potential project delays or issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with clients, contractors, and project teams.
- A self-motivated individual with exceptional organisational skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Professional certifications such as APM, PMI, or Prince2 would be advantageous but not essential.
