Salary: Up to 70,000

Working hours: Full-Time or Part-Time
Experience level: GOC registered Optometrist with the ability to supervise a pre-reg.

About The Role

Specsavers in Newbury (Hectors Way, located in Sainsbury's) have a fantastic opportunity for a GOC registered Optometrist to join their team. The store is fully equipped with all the latest technology and this role offers the potential to work across two stores, the other one being located within Newbury.Our Directors, Gary, Alison and Ian have over 70 years experience collectively at our Newbury store, with many team members having been with Specsavers for over 20 years.

At Specsavers Newbury, Hectors Way we really care about our team and recognise hard work, we have taken them on trips to Dublin, Amsterdam, Cardiff and Edinburgh creating amazing memories to thank them for their hard work.

There are 7 test rooms with an OCT in store and had a store refurbishment in 2017 to enhance both customer and colleague environment. You will also be supported by 7 Optometrists and the wider team who are very keen on supporting with any development you are looking for.

Newbury is a small market town nestled in West Berkshire with so much going for it. By day you can enjoy Newburys top class race course, a visit to Highclere Castle where Downton Abbey was filmed, or a scenic walk/cycle on one of the many trails this lovely town has to offer. In the evening you can sample food at some of the best eateries and continue the night in the towns bars and pubs.

Newbury is extremely well connected, by both road and train, placed within an hour of London, Oxford and Bristol. The Sainsbury store is accessed from the A339.

Alongside being a qualified and GOC registered Optometrist, we are searching for someone who shares our stores ethos. Someone who wants to grow, develop and offer exceptional customer care along the way. We want a practitioner who prides themselves on their clinical judgment, that isnt afraid of a hands-on approach and who is keen to get involved and build rapport with the rest of the team. In summary, were looking for a skilled resident Optometrist to join us, be part of the team and assist in driving our practice forward.
