The Affiliate Marketing Manager will be responsible for leading the strategy and overall management of the schuh affiliate program across the UK and Ireland with a particular focus on the student market. Working closely with the Head of Digital Marketing and team, you will be focused on achieving digital revenue targets and driving growth. The role includes ownership of key publisher relationships and management of the affiliate platform account team.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own and coordinate key publisher relationships, ensuring commercial alignment with schuh to drive profitable growth
- Track, report and analyse account performance and report to the wider digital department on a weekly and periodical basis
- Proactive optimisation of the affiliate programme to balance ROI with innovative new opportunities for growth
- Monitor commission rates, tenancy placements and performance against key KPIs, reviewing performance and making improvements to the existing programme
- Ownership of all Student publishers, with a particular focus on schuh’s competitiveness in this market
- Management and development of CSS partners
- Effective budget forecasting and spend management
- Work cross functionally with channel managers to ensure all affiliate activity is aligned with team strategy, targets and KPIs
- Lead negotiations for publisher agreements and media packages across campaigns
- Work collaboratively with the internal brand marketing and creative teams to ensure activity goes live in line with planned launch dates and the marketing calendar
- Ensure effective communication of affiliate updates across the business, particularly making sure the CX and Retail team are up to date with current publishers, discounts and campaigns
- Effectively demonstrate the value of the affiliate channel to the business, delivering and providing insights using Google Analytics, including ongoing discount analysis
- Research and analyse footwear market activity to ensure a deep understanding and awareness of key competitors
- Line management of Digital Marketing Assistant (Affiliates focused)
DESIRABLE SKILLS
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and act on trends and a solid understanding of media attribution
- A good communicator with the ability to translate and share actionable insights from data
- Commercially minded with a deep understanding of ecommerce, retail and ROI measurement, including a keen understanding of omnichannel strategy and measurement
- A strong negotiator, with experience navigating contract renewals and new business agreements
- An ongoing drive to continuously test, learn and lead innovation
- Experience with student publishers is desirable but not essential
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise workload
- Ability to build close relationships with wider teams in order to maximise performance and opportunities across the business
- Strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment
- Confident in presenting to stakeholders
- 5+ years in a digital marketing role and demonstrable results managing a large scale affiliate program
