Job description

Are you a qualified teacher looking for a highly flexible, well-paid teaching role? One where you can take control of your progression and development whilst also spending more time teaching? Whether you're looking to become a full-time professional tutor, or just tutor a few hours a week, we'd love to hear from you.

Owl Tutors is a premium UK tuition company that specialises in providing qualified teachers for expert one-to-one tuition. Run by a friendly team of mostly ex-teachers, we work closely with our tutors to help find the work that they want at the times that suit them for the best rates of pay.

We are seeing increased demand for in-person school entrance tutoring in the Sevenoaks area , and are actively recruiting qualified teachers to fill these roles. We will provide free training on the school entrance assessments, so previous experience is not needed .

What is school entrance tuition?

Why work with Owl Tutors?

Here are some of the main reasons our tutors love working with us

Autonomy : We are here to help you find the best work for the best rates and provide any support that we can. We do not instruct our teachers on how to perform their tutoring, leaving our tutors time and space to plan the best lessons possible.

Net pay rates : Our tutors choose the rate they wish to charge for each engagement. Net hourly pay rates range from £31 to £104 per hour. On average, our tutors take home around £50 per hour. Experienced teachers with school entrance exam experience are likely to achieve the highest rates of pay.

Flexible Hours : Tutor whenever it's convenient for you, whether it's fitting in a few hours around your teaching job, offering a few sessions on the weekend, or becoming a full-time tutor.

More time teaching, less admin : Our tutors tend to find the administrative burden of being a tutor significantly lighter than classroom teaching.

Ongoing Support : Our experienced team is always on hand to provide guidance to tutors to help them land more jobs, improve their practice, increase efficiency and also to manage any difficult circumstances. We provide ongoing support during the life cycle of an engagement.

Minimum Requirements:

Owl Tutors is committed to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and expect our tutors to share this commitment. This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check, and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974.
