ROLE SUMMARY:
We are seeking an ambitious and driven sales professional with a passion for driving new business opportunities and cultivating meaningful client relationships. In this role, you will leverage our extensive portfolio to engage with Enterprise clients, identifying opportunities for growth and success, particularly within the data centre and office fit-out markets.
As a Business Development Manager you will be a driving force in expanding our client base, forging strategic partnerships, and uncovering new business opportunities. With a client-centric approach supported by a dynamic team, we deliver unparalleled value to our clients and foster professional growth of our team members.
You will receive comprehensive support from our executive team and sales and technical solutions experts to identify strategic opportunities and propose innovative solutions aligned with our client's needs and goals. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales
- Identify, develop and close new business opportunities as well we opportunities to upsell additional products and services to existing clients based on their evolving needs.
- Understand client needs and challenges, tailoring your approach and demonstrate how you can address these needs and overcome the challenges
- Generate new business by developing and executing targeted strategies, from initial lead generation to successful contract negotiations.
Technical & Industry Knowledge
- Develop a solid understanding of North’s technology solutions including technical specifications, features and benefits, and the capability to explain complex concepts in an easy to comprehend way
- Keep up to date with industry trends, innovations, and developments
Relationship Building
- Build strong relationships with existing customers maintaining communication, providing updates and ensuring continual support
- Expand our customer base and build a foundation of new clients
- Obtain market intelligence through research and industry contacts.
- Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to connect, influence, and build trusting and lasting relationships at various organisational levels
- Identify, target, and cultivate relationships with potential clients, strategic partners, and industry stakeholders to expand our market presence.
Sales Planning & Forecasting
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and performance reports to the leadership team, collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless project handover post-sales.
- Develop and execute a sales plan that exceeds targets.
- Maintain regular reporting on your sales activities, goals, and achievements presenting these reports to management and the business as required.
- Take ownership of the sales pipeline, manage and track leads and opportunities from forecasting and prospecting to closing deals, and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads & opportunities.
- Contribute to the development of sales strategies, pricing models, and market positioning to ensure our offerings remain competitive and aligned with market demands.
Collaboration
- Foster excellent communications and customer service relationships, both internally and externally
- Work closely with marketing and other internal teams to align your sales effort and strategy to North’s overall strategies and goals
- Attend meetings and site visits with clients and internal partners when required
Market Analysis
- Stay informed of industry trends, competitive products, and emerging technologies, using this information to adjust your sales strategies and product positioning.
- Be adaptable and ready to learn about new technologies, trends, and market shifts to adjust your sales approach accordingly.
Continuous Learning
- Invest in your personal and professional development by keeping updated on sales techniques, industry knowledge, and product advancements to enhance your effectiveness.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; and participating in professional societies.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Proven track record and sales experience in a similar sales role preferably within the data centre industry
- Ability to develop excellent working relationships with clients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience in operating at multiple levels
- Exceptional negotiation skills and ability to steer and influence others
- Highly motivated with an ability to exceed targets and surpass sales goals.
- Sales training and vendor accreditation are beneficial but will be provided
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Aptitude for problem-solving and being able to overcome unforeseen and unexpected issues.
