Value Added Tax Specialist | Saudi Arabia
Up to £150,000 tax free,
Job Responsibilities - Prepare and review the VAT returns as per VAT regulations applicable in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- Review Global Indirect Tax Returns as prepared by the One Service Provider for delegated portfolio of entities under various jurisdictions.
- Monitoring the quality of the indirect tax data and reports.
- Compliance with the legislative changes and ensuring that that the systems and/or business processes are updated based on the amendments in the VAT regulations.
- Prompt resolution of VAT related queries from other functions with the company and affiliates which are part of the KSA and Non-KSA VAT Groups.
- Participate in review of business contracts and providing inputs to the proponents from a VAT perspective.
- Liaison with legal team/external consultants on complex contracts in order to ensure compliance with the VAT regulations.
- Prepare presentation of monthly VAT return to senior management and ensuring that tax payments are made to ZATCA before the due date.
- Support Indirect Tax Audits as conducted by Internal/External Audit as well as ZATCA.
- Communicates risks and issues in a timely manner to senior management and/ or other functions within the company.
- Actively participate in training and coaching session in your development plan to ensure continuous development of your technical knowledge.
- Support with Indirect Tax Automation projects in order to streamline existing process.

To qualify for the role, you must have: - A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and a Professional Qualification such as ACA, ACCA/CPA or equivalent.
- Conceptual understanding of accounting, business processes and VAT compliance and reporting regulations applicable in Saudi Arabia or GCC.
- Basic understanding of SAP. Preference would be given to candidates who have working knowledge of SAP.
- Candidate should have excellent hands-on experience of working on large data sets specifically in MS-Excel. Experience of working on automation through Tax Engines would be a plus.
- Fluency in English – written and spoken.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Experience: - 3-6 years of working experience on Global Indirect Tax-VAT.
- Previous experience working with Indirect Tax practice in Big 4 firms or indirect tax function in large multinational companies would be preferred.
- Professional certification in Indirect Taxes would be an added advantage.
