Sales Development Representative

We’re thrilled that you’re interested in joining the British Board of Agrément.

The BBA is looking to hire a Sales Development Representative to join our Sales Team. This role will be assigned to an office, either Croxley or Liverpool.

About Us:

The British Board of Agrément (BBA) provides services that help clients create accountability and mitigate risk. Through extensive research, auditing, inspection, testing and certification, we help to instill confidence in the entire Construction product supply chain. With a 50-year legacy as a trusted certification body, the BBA develops long-term partnerships with clients, assisting in the innovation and development of products and services, enabling continued commercial growth in both the UK and Global marketplaces, while remaining reassuringly impartial. As a for-profit organisation Limited by Guarantee, the BBA looks to reinvest in the industry for the benefit of all stakeholders.

About You:

We’re looking for a candidate that is excited about excellence and playing a critical part in the business’ focus on serving our customers better. You are comfortable working in a structured environment, with the agility to adapt when necessary. You can work independently, and as part of a team and confident to suggest improvements to work more efficiently.

Role Purpose:

The purpose of the Sales Development Representative (SDR) role is to proactively generate and qualify leads for the sales team. The SDR plays a crucial part in the sales process by initiating contact with potential clients, building relationships, and identifying opportunities for further engagement.

The primary objectives include expanding the customer base, increasing sales pipeline, and contributing to the overall revenue growth of the organization.

Key responsibilities involve conducting outbound prospecting activities such as cold calling and email outreach, collaborating with marketing and sales teams, and maintaining accurate records of interactions in CRM systems.

The SDR acts as the initial point of contact, paving the way for the sales team to convert leads into customers. Success in this role is measured by meeting and exceeding lead generation quotas, providing valuable insights to improve sales strategies, and effectively contributing to the achievement of organizational sales targets.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Conduct outbound prospecting to generate and qualify leads through cold calling, email outreach, and other sales development activities.

• Research and identify potential clients, key decision-makers, and industry trends to tailor outreach strategies effectively.

• Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to align efforts, ensure consistency in messaging, and optimize lead generation initiatives.

• Utilise CRM tools and sales automation software to track, manage, and report on lead development activities.

• Nurture and build relationships with prospects through effective communication, objection handling, and value proposition delivery.

• Meet and exceed monthly/quarterly lead generation quotas and other performance metrics.

• Continuously update and maintain accurate prospect information in the CRM system.

• Provide valuable feedback to marketing and product teams based on prospect interactions and market insights.

• Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market changes to adapt strategies accordingly.

What we offer:

We believe that our strength lies in our people; that’s why we invest heavily in them through providing training to maintain and develop the skills of all our teams, enabling us to serve our clients better. Because of that, we offer a total reward package including competitive salaries and benefits, including:

• BBA Contributory Pension Scheme of 6%.

• Life assurance.

• Generous holiday allowance starting at 25 days and increasing to 30 after five years of service.

• Health care cash plan scheme.

• An Employee Assistance Programme – with up to 6 counselling sessions.

• Flexible working hours to fit in with individual lifestyles.

• Opportunity to work from home (Most roles eligible to apply for the Hybrid Homeworking Scheme for up to 3 days a week following completion of induction).

• Free Car Parking and an onsite restaurant at our Watford site.

• The Croxley office has been designed for us and has access to a range of facilities, including an Anytime gym, and many out of hours social activities.

• Our Liverpool site is based in a city-centre location and has discounted parking, and an onsite coffeeshop & bar.

• We’re a social group and when we’re not working, we love to get together socially, and support local community initiatives whenever possible.
