Job description
What you will do in your working day
The post holder will be required to work within clearly defined processes and procedures and product specifications and standards, while ensuring full compliance with Quality, Health and Safety at Work and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at all times.
Following training, the key duties of the post are as follows:
- The primary role of the Maintenance Apprentice is to successfully complete a 4-year apprenticeship plan for a Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician (MOET). Upon successful completion a shift-based role will be identified and based on the needs of the Engineering team at the time of completion
- To complete the apprenticeship program a development plan, supported by an assigned mentor, consisting of the activities listed below will be provided to give the candidate exposure to the appropriate work modules
- Provide a professional, high quality Multi-skilled Engineering service following adequate training, and completion of appropriate qualifications
- Responsible for the maintenance of production lines and manufacturing vessels in accordance with product standards and specifications, to achieve required outputs (All sites)
- Participate in capital projects and new equipment procurement e.g. Factory acceptance trials (FAT’s) etc.
- Responsible for the maintenance of site services equipment and utilities
- Ensure that all operations on equipment are performed to a professional, high quality standard
- Inform and update Engineering & Production Management with regards to line availability following breakdowns etc.
- Ensure major issues are elevated in line with the agreed process – departmental ‘Elevation Tree’
- Report any immediate major related issues to the Engineering Team Leader for resolution
- Ensure that equipment is properly maintained, and identified faults are reported and logged so that corrective action can be taken
- Responsible and accountable for completion of Preventative Maintenance (PM) Work Orders and relevant documentation using Mp2 records for evidence
- Ensure that all documentation is accurately maintained, and relevant information communicated as appropriate
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety at Work, and maintain that safe working instructions (SWIs) are adhered to at all times
- Maintain high standards of GMP at all times in Production, Engineering and other accountable areas
- Carry out any other reasonable duties at the request of the Engineering Team Leader
- Be available for weekend and out of hours work when the business requires, within reason
The training you will be getting
- Maintenance Operative Engineering Technician Apprentice Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard
- 1 day a week at BCoT Basingstoke RG21 8TN
- 4 days on site in Alton GU34 2PR
