Job Title: Finance Assistant

Location: Newbury

Salary: £32,000 - £35,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Job type: Full Time, Permanent

About The Role:

• Full ownership of the purchase ledger, processing, obtaining approval, posting and scanning of the invoices
• Ensure all invoices are approved and assigned to correct nominal code
• Supplier statement and general ledger reconciliations
• Bank reconciliations and preparing payment runs
• Cash flow management
• Credit card reconciliations
• Processing Company employee expenses claims
• Assist with monthly payroll cycle and sales commissions
• Provide support to yearly audits
• Journal postings; including prepayments, accruals, GRNI and depreciation/sample journals
• Reconciliation of creditors and debtors and other balance sheet accounts
• Supporting with month-end preparation of accounts
• Assisting and covering for the Financial Controller

About you:

• At least 2 years previous experience in a similar role is essential
• AAT level 4 qualified or qualified by experience
• Inquisitive mindset and good initiative
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong organisation skills
• Flexible approach to work, self-motivated and ability to prioritise
• Analytical and ability to understand complex processes
• Enjoys problem solving and taking ownership
• Enthusiastic and always up for a challenge
