We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Business Intelligence and Data team at Greggs as an Azure Data Engineer

As an Azure Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in further enhancing this platform\'s capabilities.
Your involvement will span the entire data lifecycle: from orchestrating data ingestion into our Azure Data Lake, developing sophisticated data models for analytics, to deploying Azure Logic Apps and Function Apps for process automation. With tools like Databricks, Data Factory, Azure SQL Server, and Python, you will help develop data pipelines that convert raw data into actionable insights in line with our processes. A logical mind and appetite for problem solving is key to this role as is an aptitude for SQL. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, business analysts, and IT professionals, you will help to ensure our data solutions are suitable for the diverse needs across Greggs.

About the role
What you’ll do
Develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Azure SQL Server, and Python.
Ensure continuous data availability by supporting data ingestion into the Azure Data Lake.
Work effectively with colleagues to deploy efficient data models that meet the ever-changing business needs.
Troubleshoot complex queries and pipelines to support efficient data retrieval and insights.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and implement solutions in alignment with business goals.
Uphold the highest standards of data quality, integrity, and security, adhering to Greggs’ data governance and compliance guidelines.
Continuously update knowledge of Azure cloud services and emerging technologies, helping to integrate best practices to enhance the Greggs Data Platform
Manage your assigned workload, clearly communicating progress and seeking assistance where required.
About you
You will fit right into this role if you:
Have some demonstrable experience in relation to ETL processes, data warehousing concepts, and SQL scripting.
Possess knowledge of Azure services, especially Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Function Apps, and Azure SQL Server.
Can show a skillset incorporating data modelling techniques, and understanding, documentation of, and communication of business data requirements.
Can script in Python for data manipulation tasks.
Are able to work efficiently in a dynamic environment, with a focus on detail and accuracy and have a keenness to problem solve.
Hold a steadfast commitment to data security with some knowledge in this area
