We are looking to hire a Water Technician, to work within our Engineering Team, to aid with the day-to-day upkeep with the balancing ponds and surface water drainage systems here at EMA.
The role will ensure that the surface water drainage assets and monitoring systems, facilities and equipment remain operational within the specified safety, legislative and performance standards of the EA and East Midlands Airport. As a large site, we need to ensure all water and associated drainage is maintained in accordance with both environmental permits and wider airport guidance.
You will be required to
- Drive continuous improvement, in all areas of surface water management.
- Aid in the daily maintenance and upkeep of the balancing ponds.
- Aid with the operation and maintenance of balancing ponds.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly PPMs.
- Aid with monitoring pond levels, BOD, and TOC levels, remote and live.
- Preparation of low-level reports and updates.
- Water Quality sampling
- Potential member of out of hours standby arrangements
What will make you successful in the role?
Ideally you will have come from a similar water maintenance and engineering position, site, or water company, where a range of multi-discipline asset maintenance work is carried out.
We are looking for demonstrable experience in the following…
Carrying out first line maintenance.
Experience of water pumping station operations, including submersible pumps, valve sets, control and monitoring systems, penstocks and containment lagoons.
Ability to conduct water quality sampling with hand held equipment and surveys of water distribution and drainage networks
A good level of understanding of remote data & control systems.
