Job Title: Occupational Therapist (Band 7)
Location: Bridgend
Job Description: We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at a Band 7 level. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with children and young people with a range of moderate to complex additional needs. As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing intervention plans, providing training and upskilling, delivering interventions, and facilitating discharges.
Essential Criteria:
- Experience working with children and young people with moderate to complex additional needs at a Band 7 level.
- Proficient in assessment, intervention planning, training/upskilling, intervention delivery, and discharge processes.
- Ability to efficiently complete and close episodes of care.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively.
- Willingness to contribute to service development initiatives.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a car, as the role will involve visiting community sites such as schools and homes.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in specialist seating and upper limb splinting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and young people's occupational needs.
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans to address identified needs.
- Provide training and support to caregivers and professionals involved in the care of children and young people.
- Deliver interventions using evidence-based practice principles.
- Monitor progress and adjust intervention plans as needed.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all interventions and assessments.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
