Job description

Do you want to be part of the team transforming financial analysis at Cambridge University? The Financial Planning and Performance (FPP) team, who are developing a new approach to financial planning across the University, is looking for a new team member. We are developing accurate, transparent financial planning information to open strategic conversations with senior leaders and transform the way finance is understood within the University. We are nurturing and supporting our colleagues to develop new skills and broaden their experience. We encourage colleagues with fresh ideas to contribute to creating the future.

The Finance Coordinator will directly support central accounts, collaborating to manage in-year and year-end financial processes and production of financial analysis. They will act in an advisory capacity to financial administrators across the University, supporting central accounts transactional work, in liaison with relevant, parallel teams and connected colleagues.

Your Skills

You will be qualified or studying towards a Financial/Accounting AAT (Professional Diploma) or have an equivalent level of practical experience in a financial background. You will have expertise in financial and accounting practice, and experience of working in a dynamic finance or administrative function within a large organisation. You will be highly numerate, and demonstrate excellent IT skills, specifically in Excel, Oracle Financials and Tableau (or similar systems), and able to prioritise your own workload. You will thrive in a creative, busy team, and will be happy to share your knowledge with others inside and outside of the direct team. You will enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues in across the University.

Location

The University is supportive of hybrid working, where some work is undertaken on University premises and some in a remote working environment. The aim of our approach is to enable as many staff as possible to work in a hybrid way if they wish and where their role allows. This arrangement is subject to change and will not form a part of the contractual terms of the role.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.
