We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a Band 7 Physiotherapist with recent acute hospital experience to lead our dynamic team, working across four specialties, including critical care (ICU/HDU), surgery, cardiorespiratory (including acute respiratory unit and medical wards), and the Lane-Fox Remeo unit.

The Lane Fox Remeo Respiratory Centre is our state-of-the-art facility, operated in partnership with Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. It specialises in providing long-term respiratory support, encompassing both non-invasive and invasive ventilation. Our expert team at this 20-bed unit focuses on 'weaning' patients from invasive mechanical ventilation, offering specialised care for long-term, complex respiratory patients.

Here, every patient is surrounded by specialist multidisciplinary clinicians who love what they do. Our team are compassionate and strive to always deliver the best quality, patient-focused care.

We work together to continue to improve the way that complex respiratory patients and their families are supported on the journey from a critical care environment, returning home or to a long-term facility.

Our centre provides the vital step between dependence and home through specialist support from a team of Consultants and respiratory specialist Nurses , Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists .

Our main goal is improving the quality of life for people with complex respiratory ventilation requirements so that they can return home.

What you'll be working:

This role is full time, working 37.5 hours per week over 7 days withon-calls.

What you'll be doing:

• Develop, co-ordinate, deliver and evaluate the physiotherapy service for the Remeo unit (long term respiratory weaning unit).
• Provide advanced assessment and treatment of acutely ill patients, with mainly respiratory problems, and multi-pathology, including those who have highly complex and/or chronic presentations, and to maintain associated records, as an autonomous practitioner.
• Provide highly specialist support and advice for the continued care and rehabilitation of patients.
• Supervise, initiate, and participate in evidence-based projects, including recommendations for change in practice and to lead in departmental research and audit in their clinical area.
• Educate and supervise other health professionals, physiotherapists, and students.
• Deputise for the Lead Physiotherapist when required.
• Supervise and lead the Physiotherapy team on the Remeo unit.

What you'll have:

• Adegree in Physiotherapy
• HCPC registration
• Post registration qualification in area of specialist field
• Knowledge of a wide range of approaches to the management of respiratory patients demonstrated by advanced clinical reasoning
