Job description
We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join us on a permanent full-time basis t o provide quality control inspection operations and technical support in cluding d rawing checking on a range of contracts within a technical engineering environment.

The Role
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Prioritisation of all parts / assembly inspections through the department in response to project demands.
- Rigidly implement the recording, reporting and management of non-conforming parts / products in accordance with the company procedures.
- Ensure all non-conforming parts are quarantined in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure all inspected and conforming parts are transferred to the next location (e.g. stores, assembly area etc.) and status updated within the tracking system.
- Create and maintain Quality Control Inspection Records using company forms and software.
- Ensure the correct selection and use of inspection and test equipment is used and that it is within calibration.
- Assist in investigating and resolving supplier and manufacturing issues.
- Support or attend internal and customer facing meetings as requested.
- Producing and recording project data in hard copy and electronic formats whilst ensuring documentation (which may include drawings, media, documents etc.) is filed appropriately.
- Maintaining configuration control of project data and ensuring data is identified and controlled in relation to its security classification.
- Proof read and issuing of project specific technical drawings (where required) prior to release.
- Managing the copy, distribution and control of project data both internally and with Clients.
- Set-up, maintain and reporting of analytical data / metrics as required.
- Provide regular written and verbal reports as and when requested with reference to Tracking spreadsheets, Job Route Cards, Defect Reports and registers, Inspection procedures / specifications and other associated documentation.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support Procurement with supplier auditing.
- Be aware of developments in the fields covered by the position.
- Control of calibrated equipment to ensure identification labels are present, calibration schedules are adhered to, and records kept.
- Co-operate with special projects and be prepared to extend your sphere of involvement within reasonable expectations.
- Ensure that all tasks are carried out in accordance with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, Company policies and procedures.

RELEVANT QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- Significant inspection experience in a precision engineering environment.
- HNC or equivalent in technical discipline.
- Experience of working with complex component and assembly drawings, specifications and procedures.
- Ability to use CAD packages to troubleshoot inspection tasks.
- Good IT skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in a range of inspection equipment such as Vernier’s , Gauges and Micrometers.
- Ability to prepare inspection reports / first article reports.
- Working knowledge of Computer Aided Design.
- Mechanical / Electrical fitting skills.
- Preferred experience in Automotive / Aerospace industry or similar.
- Commitment to quality and attention to detail.
- Good level of organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks to deadlines.
