Mechanical Fitter

Salary Expectation £12.50ph DOE, days regular 7.30am-3.30pm Mon-Thurs and 7.30am-3pm Fridays, 20 days holiday, Free Parking, on bus route

Due to an exceptionally busy period a long-established engineering manufacturer has an exciting opportunity for a mechanical fitter to join their team to

assist in:

• Producing assembled valves of an acceptable quality, in an acceptable time, to the agreed production plan.

• Assisting when required and within skills capabilities, with the assembly and test of the full range of products.

• Actively and constantly involved in producing better quality products, identifying cost savings in component design or manufacture, and improving working methods and procedures.

• Identify and solve problems as they occur in conjunction with the supervisor and other departments.

• Carrying out any other duties that can reasonably be assessed to be part of the role.

• Carrying out the duties in a manner that safeguards the post holder's own health and safety as well as that of his/her colleagues.

• Driving works vehicle to sites to assist other fitters as and when required

We would expect the mechanical fitter to be able to assist with all activities within the manufacturing areas which may include working within a small team of experienced fitters that are building valves and associated parts
