Job description
What you will do in your working day
During your 36 month programme, you’ll learn how to make our wastewater treatment processes run smoothly by learning how to operate our systems and the equipment we use to treat our wastewater, to make sure it complies with strict compliance regulations. You’ll be involved in fault investigation and problem solving too so there’s lots to learn.
This can be a bit of a messy job dealing with the things our customers flush down the loo so you’ll need to be prepared to get your hands dirty.

- How to work as a team to ensure our wastewater treatment works run smoothly and comply with strict health and safety and compliance regulations
- How to follow our site procedures and standards to ensure that all of the processes that we use are working to their full potential
The training you will be getting
- Successful apprentices will achieve a Level 3 Water Process Technician Standard endorsed by the Institute for Apprenticeships.
- Training will be apprentice workplace and block release so during your first year you’ll spend 1 week every month in United Utilities.
