Overview - Position Purpose
The individual in this role will support the Master Production Scheduler in the delivery and schedule of programmes within the manufacturing environment ensuring cost, quality and schedule requirements are attained.
The incumbent will actively participate in the effective creation and maintenance of programme schedules and management of product data within the SAP toolset underpinned with a knowledge and application of MRPII principles and be expected to be able to adapt and apply their practices in a variety of circumstances, to develop their practices and to guide and instruct others in their application.

Position Duties and Responsibilities
This individual will be responsible for:
- Managing small projects on an ad-hoc basis – responsible for planning, cost control etc.
- Creation, configuration of Production Control related data to maintain SAP configuration
- Creation of detailed cross platform capacity planning models
- Liaison with ISS project teams to ensure operations activity is planned in appropriately.
- Support in the creation and maintenance of master production schedules and material resource planning within the SAP environment
- Support in the creation of a supply plan, monitoring factory / production line capacity and inventory optimisation
- Creation of production planning information and production control documentation (e.g. Production Control checklists, manufacturing schedules) to optimise operational efficiencies and ensuring line balanced and levelled production plans
- Participate in the creation of master production schedule(s) to control production and external supply chain (including external processes and tasking’s) within the SAP environment
- Alignment of manufacturing Bills of Materials within the SAP environment to ensure effective production planning (i.e. kitting requirements) whilst ensuring configuration management and production control
- Provision of production control support to cross platform workshop activities (including but not limited to vehicle upgrade/modification/component repairs/manufacture of spares)
- Creation of production planning, scheduling information and production control documentation (e.g. Production Works Orders, Service Orders/Notifications, production plans and schedules) to optimise operational effectiveness
- Promptly addressing and resolving production issues to minimize delays in production
- Active participation and promotion of all aspects of the business SHE Management system
- Provision of technical and administrative support to the Operations Management team
- Generate data that informs relevant metrics and KPI’s to ensure operational activities are delivered to cost and schedule
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
- Proven experience in Production planning and control and/or a Planning or Production management qualification from an accredited body – Desirable
- Good MS Office experience including proficient Excel and Powerpoint skills
- Security cleared or the ability to attain and maintain a UK security clearance up to SC level – Mandatory
- German language (written / verbal) – Desirable
- Detailed operating knowledge of SAP
- Experience and application of
- Manufacturing planning and scheduling tools and techniques
- Performance monitoring, measurement and reporting
- Sound knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP)
- Knowledge of
- Understanding of Teamcentre or other PLM system - Desirable
- Managing Production Works Orders, Service Notifications and Service Orders
- Manufacturing change control and configuration control management
- Manufacturing Bill of Material creation and management utilising SAP
- Continuous improvement tools and techniques
- Value Analysis / Value Engineering initiatives in a series production environment
- MRP/ERP/MES Systems
- Applicable business quality standards
- Safety, Health and Environmental legislation and best practice
- Production planning and control gained in complex, low volume heavy vehicle/defence vehicle manufacturing industry
- Experience in
- Sales and Operations planning
- Delivery of significant work packages or programmes
- Applied experience of SAP or other ERP/MRP equivalent systems
- Excellent communication skills
