Job description

Pleasington Golf Cub in Blackburn are recruiting for an Apprentice Commis Chef. The successful candidate will work towards their Level 2 Commis Chef qualification which will take approximately 20 months to complete.

Job Duties Include:
· The preparation, cooking and presentation of food to menu specifications using fresh ingredients
· Production of soups and sauces
· Learning about stock control, portion control and food wastage
· Understanding dietary requirements
· Involved in the preparation and production of event catering
· How to use specialist kitchen equipment safely and correctly
· Keeping a safe and hygienic working environment
· Keeping the kitchen clean, tidy and organised.

Requirements:
• Team orientated
• Ability to work independently towards a shared goal.
• Attention to detail
• Good time management skills
• Strong verbal communication and listening skills.

Hours:
Rota basis / 5 days out of 7 / 8:00am earliest start 8:00pm latest finish / minimum 30 hours per week
