Job overview

We have a great opportunity for registered practitioners  to join our dynamic team in the Ely Day Surgery Unit. 

We are looking for Practitioners with NMC or HCPC active registrations, you will be motivated and proactive as well as work effectively under pressure.  You will demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and work as an integral member of the team. 

Although based in Ely, you will need to be flexible and required to work at the Addenbrooke’s site to provide cover and for personal development.  

Main duties of the job

To work as part of the multidisciplinary team, providing safe and effective care for patients during the perioperative period.

To undertake the management of patient recovery when required.

To participate as an integral member of the theatre team.

Participate in the supervision and training of students and junior staff.

To co-ordinate the patients journey from admission to discharge.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

RN/ODP

Evidence of continued professional development

Desirable criteria

Relevant Teaching and assessing qualification (or must be willing to work towards whilst in post)

Evidence of accurate documentation and reporting

Experience

Essential criteria

Clinically current in Perioperative practice

Relevant perioperative teaching and management experience required for senior band 5 practitioners

Experience of managing a clinical area

Desirable criteria

Evidence of supervision/mentoring of learners (including both junior staff and students) in practice

Practice supervisor and Practice assessor (SSSA) training

Experience participating in clinical development initiatives

Knowledge

Essential criteria

Good communication skills both written and verbal, capable of working as an integral member of a team

Ability to prioritise workload

NMC code of conduct guidelines

HCPC code of conduct guidelines

Skills

Essential criteria

Committed to staff support. Highly motivated. Willing to develop perioperative practice
