Highway Maintenance Operative
This company specialises in providing a range of high-quality maintenance services to keep highways and roads in optimal condition, contributing to the smooth flow of traffic and the safety of road users.
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Highway Maintenance Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a range of maintenance tasks on highways and roads, ensuring their safe and efficient operation.
Responsibilities:
·Conduct routine inspections of highways and roads to identify and address maintenance issues, such as potholes, damaged signs, and debris.
·Perform various maintenance tasks, including patching, resurfacing, and repairing road surfaces using appropriate equipment and materials.
·Install, repair, and maintain road signs, guardrails, and other safety features to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
·Operate and maintain a variety of machinery and equipment, such as trucks, rollers, and power tools, safely and efficiently.
·Assist with traffic management activities, including setting up traffic control measures and directing traffic flow during maintenance operations.
·Respond promptly to emergency situations, such as accidents or severe weather events, to ensure the safety of road users and minimize disruption to traffic.
·Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment maintenance to support reporting and invoicing processes.

Qualifications and Skills:
·Previous experience in highway maintenance or a related field is preferred but not essential.
·Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices for highway maintenance.
·Ability to operate a range of machinery and equipment safely and effectively.
·Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
·Valid driver's license and willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
