Job description

Job Title – Commissioning Support Officer (x 2 posts) (Family Help, SEND incl. Short Breaks, Reducing Parental Conflict)

Location – Trafford Town Hall, Talbot Road, Stretford M32 0TH

We work in a hybrid way, working from the office, from home and from other Council buildings as appropriate such as Sale Waterside.

Salary range –  Band 6: £32,076 - £33,945 per annum for full time post

Working Pattern –  1 x Full Time

1 x Part Time (0.8FTE)

Working hours –  7.15 hours per day, 5 days a week. Specific hours/days for the 0.8FTE post will be negotiated with the successful candidate.

About the Role

We currently have an opportunity to recruit to 2 permanent Commissioning Support Officer roles (1 full time, 1 0.8FTE) with a focus on the delivery of Family Help, SEND including Short Breaks and Reducing Parental Conflict (RPC) commissioning activity. This is an exciting time to be working in this field as we develop Trafford’s Family Hubs, and completely reshape our Short Breaks offer.

In this role you will: provide support to all aspects of the commissioning cycle in relation to Family Help services, SEND services which includes Short Breaks and the RPC agenda; support the delivery of strategic priorities by undertaking activities in relation to the above areas; commission good quality provision and be committed to working with providers; support the Commissioning Officers to effectively manage contracts and oversee the performance and quality of provision.

You will be part of a wider team of 2 Commissioning Support Officers led by a Commissioning Officer.

About You

You will be committed to making a difference for Trafford children and families through your work. You should be educated to degree level / higher level qualifications, or equivalent accreditation, or able to evidence substantial directly relevant experience in Family Help, SEND or the RPC field. Partnership working is extremely important in this role and it’s vital that you can develop positive working relationships both within the commissioning team and with a wide range of health and social care providers to improve outcomes for children and families, therefore we are looking for someone who is personable and professional in their approach.
