An exciting new opportunity has been created for an Acute and Emergency Medicine Care Group Operations Director.

This is a senior operational leadership role in our new organisation taking forward the responsibility for business and overall performance of the Care Group. Reporting to the Care Group Chief of Service and working alongside the Care Group Nurse Director you will provide leadership to the general managers in the Care Group and ensure that the safety and care of patients and staff is primary and maintained. This Care Group provides services for all our hospitals emergency departments, same day emergency care, acute assessment units and the care of patients in the medical short stay areas. The services also support the urgent treatment centre operations out of our three acute hospital sites in conjunction with primary care and community partners. This role is one of the largest in our new organisation and provides an interesting development opportunity due to the mix of general and acute care linked to the whole urgent care agenda. You will have the opportunity to collaboratively with our Integrated Care Board and 2 ambulance services building improvement in approach and collaborative working. You will be an experienced general manager looking for your next opportunity to develop or an existing senior leader looking for the opportunity to work in an exciting and new approach across our healthcare group.

As a member of the triumvirate team leading the Care Group, the Care Group Operations Director is managerially accountable to the Care Group Chief of Service but is responsible jointly, along with the Care Group Chief of Service and Care Group Nurse Director, for its overall efficient, effective and compassionate leadership, management and performance.

The Care Group Operations Director is professionally accountable to the Site Managing Director and will provide advice and support on relevant matters. The Care Group Operations Director will be required to act up or cross-cover in a professional or managerial capacity as required and appropriate, and Deputise for the Site Managing Director when required.

The Care Group Operations Director role is pivotal in ensuring, through their line report personnel, that patient care is assessed, planned, implemented and evaluated in accordance with required organisational and professional standards.

The Care Group Operations Director is responsible for the development of Leadership, managerial and business capability of managers across multiple services in the Care Group to support effective delivery, financial performance and service improvement.

Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) and Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLaG) comprise a highly ambitious, newly formed NHS Group, the 12th largest acute and community provider in the NHS.

The Care Group Operations Director is responsible for the development and delivery of the service strategy, business plan and all key performance and activity targets including robust financial planning and management.

Specifically, the Care Group Operations Director is accountable for the leadership and direct line management of the Divisional General Managers and also the associated operational and performance across the whole Care Group.
