We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Technical team at Greggs Balliol Park site as a Quality Assurance Officer:

About the role

What you'll do

Supporting the QA Manager(s) with day-to-day technical activities, assisting with third party BRC / EHO audits and inspections, to ensure the sites certification / approval status is maintained.

· Support the QA Manager(s) on the site HACCP team and carrying out validation work and trend analysis to support the sites HACCP plan.

· Assisting with the introduction and implementation of food safety and quality procedures for day-to-day manufacturing operations.

· Attending management meetings and presenting technical information as requested by the QA Manager(s).

· Providing technical support for site product recall / withdrawals and have the ability to lead the incident call in the absence of the QA Manager(s).

· Monitoring and maintenance of the product testing requirements, including analysis of results and instigation of investigations and corrective action plans.

· Supporting the site with the management of non-conforming products and complaint investigations.

· Driving operational standards by completing internal audits in line with the sites internal audit schedule.

· Supporting the site QA Team to ensure effective implementation of food safety and quality management systems, and prerequisites.

· Supporting the QA Team with their targets, objectives, and development plans

About you

You will fit right into this role if you have:

· A Degree or HNC level education in a Food Science based subject

· HACCP Level 3 and Food Safety Level 4 qualifications

· A good understanding or experience of food manufacturing environments

· A good understanding of BRC Global standard requirements and experience participating in internal and third party audits.

· Proven experience in investigations and internal audits with strong attention to detail

· Proven experience of leadership, decision making and report writing

· A result focused approach with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence others.

· Have experience of, and the ability to multi-task and work with multiple priorities calmly and at pace.

· Have advanced IT skills including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams
