What success looks like in this role:
PLEASE NOTE: This role is working for the UK Government so will require applicants to be British Passport holders for SC Clearance eligibility.
Serve as an SME of Databases and provide assistance to production lifecycle teams: development, infrastructure, testing and production. This may require occasional travel to sites nationwide and working out of hours and be on-call.
You will be successful in this role if you have:
Monitor, maintain and tune databases to optimise availability of server as well as troubleshooting performance.
Create suitable Database alerts and proactively monitor, respond, action to alerts
Troubleshot performance and connection issues.
Build environments based on standards and best practices that would align to operational and business requirements.
Monitor database maintenance scripts for backups, index rebuild/defragment, and database statistics.
Produce, maintain, and ensure backup and recovery procedures are functioning correctly.
Essential Experience Required:
Experienced in database technologies and a good understanding of SQL development and scripting tools.
