Job description
The candidate’s primary responsibility is the educational and social development of a 5-year-old and a 6-year-old. , The candidate is also expected to be one of the children’s main caregivers, for example, guiding them when they change their clothes., The candidate will work with other staff members, including tutors and nannies, to ensure the children are properly looked after, engaged and learning. They will be responsible for ensuring the children are well looked after at all times and help further their spoken and written English (to including grammar and English etiquette) and all other educational needs. The family appreciates a great attitude and flexibility and may occasionally ask the Governess to assist with responsibilities outside the job description (but related to the children) in the rare event this is required to cover for other team members’ temporary absence (due to medical reasons, etc.). The family values proactive behaviour, thoughtful planning and support to facilitate the smooth operations of the household. The client and family value complete confidentiality and are very private. The candidate is expected to respect this, understand boundaries and be discreet at all times.
Duties:
Furthering the children’s spoken and written English and teaching the ‘proper’ English etiquette.
Helping the children achieve their developmental and academic targets.
Helping to cultivate confidence, creativity and appropriate risk-taking.
Helping the children practise making moral decisions, and learning exemplary manners and courtesy.
Following the children’s curriculum and tutoring in the appropriate subjects.
Helping create a nurturing and stimulating environment for the children.
Looking after the children’s health and well-being, including administering medicine and
updating the family when the children are unwell., Providing healthy snacks and meals., Keeping the children’s areas tidy.
