As Technical Manager you will uphold Brusco Food Group’s commitment to food ingredient quality and authenticity. You will lead and nurture the Technical team, offering specialised insights and providing essential guidance on technical and quality matters. You will play a critical role in maintaining our AA BRCGS grade, ensuring our customers buy from us with confidence.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist expertise and guidance to support the food safety culture in the Technical team and broader Brusco business
- Propose the Company’s stance on emerging trends and develop necessary policies
- Maintain and continuously improve a robust Quality Management System (QMS) and provide training to the wider business
- Lead internal audits, identifying non-conformances, and collaborate on actionable solutions
- Spearhead annual product traceability, withdrawal, and recall testing while overseeing risk assessments for new suppliers and products
- Regularly evaluate supplier performance through annual reviews, on-site visits, and external audits
- Lead, engage, and nurture the Technical team, establishing roles and responsibilities
- Support the team resource needs, recruit and onboard Technical team members, whilst fostering individual development, and provide career advancement opportunities through regular reviews
- Ensure timely delivery of product specifications and data sheets to customers, supported by the Technologists
- Ensure customer complaints are addressed within 24 hours and ensure Certificates of Authenticity and Compliance are provided within the agreed timeframes
- Review and enhance department procedures to improve efficiency
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Food Safety Management role, ideally within the ingredients industry
- Proven technical expertise with a relevant qualification, e.g. food science degree
- HACCP Level 3/4 Food Safety qualification or equivalent
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and manage the workloads of others to maximise efficiency
- Adaptable and collaborative
- High standards of numeracy, literacy, and attention to detail

Salary: c£40,000 - £50,000 gross per annum (negotiable depending on skills and experience)
Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, normally 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
Location: Hybrid, based at Head Office in Offenham near Evesham. (1 day working from home, 4 days in Head office)
