We are looking for a Laundry Assistant to undertake the following duties on a day-to-day basis:
Key Responsibilities
- To provide a fast and efficient laundry service for guests
- To adhere to the laundry manual for all the processes of the laundry/dry cleaning service.
- When handling items to be laundered, take care and read labels thoroughly before washing
- Separate articles according to colour, fabric and the cleaning treatment required, watching for damage and stains
- To operate the laundry machinery by following Health and Safety and Manufacturer guidelines at all times.
- Ability to work in a team and work towards the department's goals
- To be aware of and comply with COSHH rulings
- Be conscious of and practice occupational health & safety at all times in the workplace
- Monitor the computerised washing and drying systems in laundry machines.
- To ensure that the folding, counting, stacking and packaging of articles are carried out correctly and appropriately.
- To prepare items correctly and that they are delivered to the correct property to minimise errors and guest complaints.
- To maintain the laundry room is tidy and clean at all times
- To be aware of and adhere to all of UKME's policies and procedures.
- To comply with all Health and Safety regulations as governed by the Health and Safety at work Act 1974 (and any amendments).
- To ensure a professional approach is undertaken in performing duties to the highest standards when interacting with clients, colleagues and external providers, with particular emphasis on maintaining confidentiality.
- To be flexible with working rotating shifts including weekends and bank holidays.
- To pick up and delivery laundry from properties, ensuring each property is labelled and kept separate.
- Ensure the accompanying paperwork is completed and correct with the housekeeper of the property.
- Ensure a professional approach is always delivered with particular emphasis on maintaining confidentiality.
- Liaise regularly with colleagues, supervisors and managers to ensure an efficient and effective service is delivered to the client at all times.
- Provide a highly customer focused service to the company and client at all times.
- Provide cover for colleagues during periods of absence.
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures, particularly in regard to health and safety.
- Any other duties as and when requested.
Knowledge/Experience/Skills/Abilities
- Available to work flexible rotating rosters
- Able to work in elevated temperatures
- Possess valid UK drivers licence
